Dear Friends and Family:

As you know Chile experienced a terrible earthquake last Saturday February 27 in some of its most populated areas.  While we are counting our blessings that we are OK, we know many families, schools and hospitals that are suffering from their tremendous physical and personal losses.

In the last few days, we joined the forces of many churches, students and others who are gathering material aid to send to the severely affected regions.  The Red Cross and some of the larger aid organizations are struggling to handle the huge response, which frankly is great news.  Meanwhile, we are particularly concerned about the smaller, more remote towns out of sight of the media, and often on the margins of institutional or governmental support in times of need.

If you would be willing to make a donation that will be used to directly support the medical needs of persons in the destroyed hospitals and schools in the region, Gladwyne Presbyterian Church (GPC) (where Linda Stevenson is a member) is channeling the funds through its emergency account for these needs.

At present, we are focusing on two hospitals in the region where we have personal connections to the Hospital Directors.  They both suffered significant damages and are struggling to meet the needs of their patients after the earthquake. We are working with them to receive information about their specific needs. We will send updates about the process and needs through a link on GPC’s website in the right side of our webpage and of course, our web page too.
